Demons, Devils And Other Unseen Creatures
 Ghosts What are these beings? Do they truly exist; or are they just superstitions of a by-gone era? The many accounts given by those who have had to deal with these entities give little doubt of their existence and reports of attacks by unseen creatures continue even into the twenty first century. One such account was made into a movie in recent years, “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”. Based on true events, the suffering the young woman and her family went through was horrific in the extreme. She was plagued and tormented by unseen entities who would not allow her to eat weakening her physical body to the point of death. She spoke languages unknown to her, and she would speak in voices not her own. She was put on anti-psychotic drugs which only made the problem worse. Finally, after many unfruitful attempts by the catholic priest of the family's local parish to exorcise the invading spirits, she succumbed to death. Most doctors and psychologists view such matters as nothing more than the delusions of a disturbed mind; brought on by such mental diseases as schizophrenia or experimentation with mind-altering drugs such as LSD. Yet, in spite of the mainstream medical community, reports of demons and demonic possession still continue. Those who are plagued by these dark entities, who seem bent on nothing more than the torment and destruction of the human spirit and soul, have often sought help from their church elders and pastor only to be told they need to see doctor. Many people have sought help from demonologists such as Ed and Lorraine Warren who have contacts with the Catholic church. They also have even turned for help to those who follow the path of Wicca, or contacted a Native American medicine man--the very sort of people most of the mainstream christian church view as "devil worshippers". Ironically enough, it is through these very types of spiritualists that those tormented by these dark beings have found the release they need. Our world has many layers, and the world we see with our limited physical senses belies what lies underneath. Is there a dark world inhabited by hateful beings who seem to detest our very existence—whose sole purpose and delight is to possess, torment, and kill? Given that there are so many documented accounts verified by the Catholic church and other systems of belief it would indeed appear that a world inhabited by fearsome beings does exist. Perhaps we should fear things that go bump in the night.
